Also called “fascial release”, it is a manual therapy technique based on gentle stretching and pressure on different areas of the body.
The goal of myofascial induction is to eliminate restrictions and balance the body’s function, as well as to reduce painful symptoms of the locomotor system.
To better understand the concept, we will define fascia as a connective tissue that surrounds muscles, bones, joints, viscera, nerves and blood vessels and connects to our entire body. When we perform a fascial treatment, we indirectly generate changes in the locomotor system and viscera.
Myofacial induction is a technique performed by stimulating the connective system. In this way, the increase and improvement of the internal flow of the fascia is favored, generating a sliding of the muscular fascial planes.
This mobilization is essential for optimal tissue mobility that will prevent, in the future, the creation of myofascial trigger points, whether due to ischemia, fibrosis or areas of entrapment.

When we feel pain, we tend to avoid moving to stop the discomfort, which is counterproductive as it damages the fascial system, increasing hypomobility and stiffness. In addition, the body’s ability to regain movement would also be diminished.
Myofacial induction is a very effective technique. In fact, it is used in various pathologies with the objective of seeking improvement and recovery of the patient with its application:
